August is National Dog Month, and around here, we don’t need much of an excuse to spoil our four-legged best friends. But if there is a month dedicated to celebrating dogs? We’re going all in.
Whether your dog is your adventure buddy, your cuddle partner, or the one who steals your snacks and your heart, this is the perfect time to show them just how much they mean to you.
To mark the occasion, we’re doing something a little different this year…
Free Treats with Every Order – All Month Long
We usually run our treat giveaways for just a week or so. But in honour of National Dog Month, we’re stretching it across the whole of August.

That means every single order placed in August will include 2 free packs of dog treats, no code needed.
Whether you’re grabbing a gift for someone else’s pup or treating your own with a subscription box, the free treats will be chosen at random and automatically added in. It’s our way of joining in the celebrations and saying thank you for loving your dog the way you do.
(And if your dog is food-obsessed, we highly recommend not telling them in advance. Let it be a surprise.)

National Dog Month: Other Ways to Celebrate
Free treats are just the beginning! There are loads of fun and meaningful ways to celebrate with your dog this month. Here are a few simple ideas:
1. Plan a Dog Date
Whether it’s a café visit, a dog-friendly pub, or a picnic in the park, make time for a special outing together. Bring their favourite toy and let them sniff every blade of grass.
2. Make a DIY Dog Toy
If your dog’s favourite toys don’t last long (you’re not alone), try making one together. Braid some old t-shirts, freeze a carrot in a cup of water, or stuff an empty loo roll with treats and fold the ends in. Easy enrichment, endless fun.
3. Host a Mini Dog Party
Invite a couple of dog-loving friends over and let the dogs enjoy some playtime. You could even bake some homemade dog biscuits for the occasion or, if you’re not into baking, get one of our Mega Treat Boxes and use the treats in some party games!

4. Try a New Trick or Game
Keep things interesting by learning a new trick together. Not sure where to start? If your dog already knows sit and paw, try teaching a spin, or play a game of “which hand has the treat?”
Want help with ideas? Our “Dog Trick Training Guide for Beginners” is packed with easy tricks to try at home. This guide is a downloadable PDF file and is easy to follow on your device or can be easily printed at home. Available to download here!
4. Donate to a Dog Rescue
Celebrating dogs isn’t just about spoiling your own – it’s also a chance to help those still waiting for their forever homes.
One simple way to do that? Send a gift directly to a UK dog rescue. Our Donate-a-Box option lets you choose a rescue close to your heart, or pick from our list of brilliant organisations such as Jack Russell Terrier Rescue or Notts & Yorkshire Boxer Rescue. We’ll pack up a special box of toys and treats and send it straight to them – no extra work needed from you.
It’s a small gesture that makes a big difference to dogs who don’t yet have families of their own.
Why Celebrating Dogs Matters
Let’s be honest – we already treat our dogs like family. But taking the time to celebrate them during National Dog Month is a lovely way to pause and appreciate the role they play in our lives.
They keep us company, make us laugh, get us outside, and remind us to enjoy the little things (like that crinkly bit of paper under the sofa).
Plus, moments of fun, enrichment and quality time aren’t just good for us – they’re vital for our dogs’ wellbeing too. Regular play and positive interaction help reduce stress, improve behaviour, and build your bond.
And if you needed another reason to treat them… free treats with every order is a pretty good one.
